Península or Costão das Tortugas – Guarujá – SP – 23º 59.579′ S – 45º 12.332′ W

One of the best anchorages to spend the day in Guarujá, Canto da Enseada or Canto da Península, also known as Costão das Tortugas (turtles), is a calm and beautiful place to anchor.

It is a place of great movement during the day, attracting mainly speedboats and jet skis, which come to take advantage of its calm and protected waters.

It is difficult for any vessel to stay overnight in this region, be it due to the proximity of the marinas (Canal de Santos), the “supposed” danger of assault or the exposure to the southeast wind, there are no boats, except for some fishing boats, staying overnight.

Classification: Mooring Area

Approximate anchoring coordinate: 23º 59.579′ S – 45º 12.332′ W (In front of the old Clube Samambaia)

Depth: varied according to the location of the vessel.

Type of foundation soil: sand

Marina or support area: Only marinas or nautical garages “on land”. These only guard low-draft boats, such as speedboats and jet skis, and put/withdrow them in the water with the use of raised suspension tractors.

Note: If the winds are not from the southeast, this is a very safe and protected place to anchor during the day. The overnight stay is NOT recommended due to lack of security. During the day there is a large number of boats, mainly speedboats, that spend the day there. It is also a very popular place for jet skis that pass very close to the boats.
