Maestrale debuts new boat in Ilhabela (SP) and has already accumulated good recent results

Maestrale 4 confirmed its presence at Ilhabela Sailing Week in the ORC class. The event reaches its 49th edition and will be organized by the Yacht Club of Ilhabela from the 23rd to the 30th of July.

At the helm is Adalberto Casaes, one of the leading names in national ocean sailing. And the sailboat this time will be a Felci 315, replacing the Skipper 30 that ran on the north coast of São Paulo on several occasions and was just not overall champion in 2016 because of a protest hours later on land.

The traditional boat from Rio de Janeiro continues to prepare for the competition on the island and was first in the overall position in the VPRS of the Niterói Ocean Circuit 2022.

The team surpassed Sorsa (John King) and Avohai (Lars Grael) in regattas in the city of the state of Rio de Janeiro.

”Maestrale already has a long and consistent tradition of competing in the Week! Twice we were champions in the category, we have the best possible expectations, we will do what we can to emerge victorious, our boat is sailing well”.

”Competition was very strong in Niterói, several will be in Ilhabela, we are anxious,” commented Commander Adalberto Casaes.

The Felci 315 was delivered in 2022 by RF Yachts de Sorocaba (SP).

Eduardo Mendes, Brazilian and South American champion of the Ranger 22 class, will be part of the team that will compete in Ilhabela, along with sailors Paulo Quintino and Mara Mussini, who will arrive from Argentina especially for this tournament.

Felipe Ilha and Diogo Robaina will be trimming genoa and spinnaker.
