Most modern boats in Brazil confirm their presence at the Angra dos Reis Sailing Week

An unprecedented event takes place between the 7th and 11th of September and has discounted registration until this Sunday, the 7th.

The two main boats in the country confirmed their presence for the Angra dos Reis Sailing Week, which takes place between the 7th and 11th of September, at Angra dos Reis Marina Clube and Colégio Naval.

The Crioula, a modern TP 52 boat, Brazilian champion in the ORC class at the beginning of the year and champion of the Ilhabela Sailing Week, will come strong with the crew commanded by Eduardo Plass and with the Olympic sailor Samuel Albrecht: “Crioula is confirmed, it is in our calendar, it has everything to be a good championship”, said Albrecht.

Also in the ORC, the Phoenix boat, vice-champion in Ilhabela, and with Botim 44, promises a good dispute with the Crioula and counts with the presence of Eduardo Souza Ramos, with Olympic participation in Los Angeles 1984, and André Fonseca, Bochecha, with three Olympic Games and three The Ocean Race, the race around the world: ” We will sail again in Angra with ocean boats, it has been a while since there have been any events there and we are looking forward to participating,” said Fonseca.

Samuca commented on the rivalry with Phoenix that will be resumed in Ilha Grande Bay: “It’s healthy, always good, both boats pull the Ocean Sailing level up, this dispute makes us keep evolving, improving and motivates us to be competing“.

The event will have disputes of ORC, Bico de Proa and Multicasco classes and will be the Brazilian Championship for the BRA-RGS class, the entry class of Ocean Sailing, and also the Brazilian Championship of Classic Sailboats. The competition is organized by the Angra dos Reis Marina Club and the City Hall of Angra dos Reis through the Executive Secretariat of Sports and Leisure, with the endorsement of the Brazilian Association of Ocean Sailing, ABVO.

The Angra dos Reis Sailing Week takes place at Angra dos Reis Marina Clube and Colégio Naval.

The registration will be limited to 100 sailboats and the first 50 registered will have berths available at Angra dos Reis Marina Clube and Colégio Naval. For the ORC and BRA-RGS classes, only sailboats affiliated to ABVO will be accepted.
